Vowed to Unite Aninri, Recognise and acknowledge Founding Fathers of Aninri Local Government Area and Expose Gossipers.

The People’s democratic Party in Enugu State held her Local Government Primary Elections across the 17 Local Government Areas of Enugu State today Wednesday 14th August, 2024 to elect Chairmanship candidates of the party to the upcoming October 2024 Local Government Elections in the State.

Notable amongst the Major contenders in the primary election of the PDP in the state is Hon. Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku, a respected prince of Ndumeze Ancient kingdom in Oduma Aninri Local Government Area. The Great Prince have won the heart of many as a straightforward person who has given supports to many political leaders without any trace of bad attitude or betrayal hence his general acceptance and the believe by Aninri PDP that he will unite the Party.
The primary Election was a meeting point of who is who in Aninri PDP with almost the presence of all former Aninri Local Government Chairmen (Prince Tony Nwonye, Chief Ezekiel Chukwu, Chief Chief Chris Nwabueze Nwobodo among Others). Former and Present House of Assembly Members, Former and Present Government Appointees, all Former councillors and Present Councillorship candidates, former and present Development Centre administrators, Former Transition/Caretaker Chairmen etc.
The Aninri People’s Democratic Party Local Government Chairman Hon. Victor Okoro after a brief address by Hon. Ben Alukwu (Onyeze) admonished the Party faithfuls to maintain decorum as the process lasts. Hon. Victor Okoro introduced the business of the day and handed over to the electoral panel who then started the process of the Primary Election from accreditation of Delegates and the voting commenced in the presence of Enugu State Independence Electoral Commission Observers who came to monitor the election. Thirty (30) Delegates were accredited to vote in the election and the 30 people voted for Hon. Ugochukwu Nwanjoku who stood unopposed in the election.
In his acceptance Speech, Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku Appreciated God almighty who used the Governor of Enugu State Dr. Peter Mbah to make this day a reality and who found him worthy to be used as a tool to unite Aninri and bring Progress and prosperity to the Local Government. He appreciated the Aninri Party Chairman – Hon. Victor Okoro, Member Enugu State House of Assembly – Engr. Magnus Nnaemeka Ede, Hon. Commissioner for Youths and Sports – Hon. Lloyd Ike Ekweremadu, the Electoral officers and ENSIEC Observers, delegates to the election, Former Aninri Local Government Chairmen, other Stakeholders and the Aninri PDP for their support and show of love and acceptance.
He went further to assure Aninri People that he would take on the step of the innovative Governor Mbah, especially his character of shunning gossips which have been the weakness of former leaders in the Local Government area. He encouraged Aninri People to come up with genuine and good initiatives that will lead to the development of Aninri to his table and be rest assured that such will be implemented. He warned that any gossiper would be called to explain face to face hence the need to focus on projects instead of gossipping. He vowed to recognize founding fathers of Aninri and give them what they really deserved. He appealed to Aninri People to follow him to the country Home of His Excellence Professor Ike Ekweremadu from there to the Palace of his late Dad, HRM Igwe Onyiaoha Nwanjoku as a mark of respect and a proof that Aninri is now united.
He promised to invite the founding fathers of Aninri who are alive for a meeting and assured Ndi Aninri that not him, but them is the local Government Chairman and that the election is a win win.
At the Home of Ike Ekweremadu, his Son Lloyd Ekweremadu expressed great joy for the respect and honour accorded to his father and assured Ndi Aninri that peace and progress is assured in Aninri. He noted that everybody at his father’s compound have seen that joy has returned in Aninri. He appreciated God for bringing peace to Aninri through the Governor of Enugu State Dr. Peter Mbah and praised the pattern of leadership of Dr. Mbah in Enugu State. Speaking further Lloyd Ekweremadu appreciated the Governor for the gift of Hon. Ugochukwu Nwanjoku to be the next Chairman of Aninri Local Government area.
The Mother of Senator Ekweremadu was happy with the visit and gave her blessings to Ugochukwu Nwanjoku.
At the Palace of HRM Late Igwe Onyioha Nwanjoku, Chief Ben Alukwu Addressed Ndi Aninri stating that the spirit of the late Igwe is happy with us and that Ikeoha who is the first son of the Late Igwe is Proud of us. He noted that this assignment of Peace is what we promised to do and that is what we are doing.
In his Vote of thanks, Barr. Oforbuike Nwanjoku, on behalf of the Nwanjoku dynasty of Ndumeze Kingdom appreciated PDP Members in Aninri Local Government Area after bowing to his father’s portrait at the Ndumeze seat of power as a mark of respect to the respected late Igwe whose legacies still lives on. He thanked them for their supports.
