Contrary to speculations that Engr. Magnus Edeh, the PDP House of Assembly candidate, Aninri Constituency Enugu State House of Assembly was desperate to replace the incumbent House Member representing Aninri Local Government Area, Amoji Nenwe Freedom Square news have reliably gathered that Engineer Ede was actually drafted into the race by stakeholders who believed in his loyalty and capacity.
While responding to our correspondence, Hon. Ede noted that there was never a time he contemplated running for the house of assembly. According to him, he was never financially prepared to run for elections and therefore have no such plans. He noted that no Politician in Enugu State, Aninri or beyond can say that he lobbied him or her to support him to run for any election in 2023.
When the offer came, I accepted to run out of loyalty and my believe that I have what it takes to deliver dividends of democracy to my people if elected to represent them. On the order hand, there is no man with capacity that will reject such offer from leaders. He said he have no intention of retiring anybody as he is not God and was never even sure that he will win the primary against an incumbent.
Even while I have my forms for the primary elections, the whole things was like a film to me. I submitted the forms amidst great surprise of what the outcome could be until I was declared winner of the primary election. It took me weeks to adjust to the reality and months to put things in order before I started consultation for Supports.
Consequently Amoji Nenwe Freedom Square News believed that his victory at the PDP primary election was the decision of PDP leaders because no member can have the capacity to win an incumbent in a primary election without the leaders being behind him.
Recall that Engr. Magnus Ede is a foundation member of the PDP and have served the PDP Meritoriously in various capacities as a Member Caretaker Committee Aninri West development Centre and State Coordinator Enugu State Youths Coalition an Umbrella body of over 48 Youths Organizations. No doubt the leaders considered his years of hard work and dedication to the PDP.
