Directed critical questions to Bar. Ugo Agballah

I wake up yesterday morning with a happy anniversary message from an unknown number celebrating one year of the hostile takeover of the Leadership of APC Enugu State by my friend Barr. Ugochukwu Agballah. In the message, the writer puts up an eight point achievement by my friend who re-christained himself “New Sheriff”.

As the immediate past Chairman of APC Enugu State and a friend of Barr Ugochukwu Agballah, I would have called to congratulate my friend as he celebrates his one year hostile takeover anniversary. Unfortunately, there is nothing to celebrate. As it is now after one year of Ugochukwu Agballah’s hostile takeover APC Enugu State is a skeleton of itself!

Below are the listed achievements and the true situation:

1. The claimed that Ugo Agballah grow APC membership “with over 500%. But membership regjstration has stopped several months before Ugo Agballah perfected his hostile takeover scheme. Additionally, Ugo Agballah’s membership of APC is still a subject of litigation.

APC Enugu State registered 163,000 members before the hostile takeover. So, if you multiply 163,000 by 5 you will get 815,000. The claim is simply preposterous.

2. They claimed that Ugo Agballah made APC a household name and I agree. Ugo Agballah made APC Enugu a household name with his verbal abuse of senior stakeholders, early retirement of seasoned politicians in APC and expulsion of the Most Holy Archbishop of APC Enugu State.
3. I agree, Ugo Agballah made other political parties jittery especially PDP. The leadership of PDP kept wondering how easy it was for one of their major stakeholders to overrun all the heavy weights in APC and hijacked the party structure without real resistance by the big and mighty in APC Enugu State.
4. I agree. 2022 primary was the first time since the formation of the party that only one person indicated interest to contest for Gubernatorial position under APC. So, the Candidate is the best and most clean when compared against himself.
5. Yes, he toured 260 wards in Enugu minus 20 wards in Igboeze North that were gathered inside Udenu.
6. Yes he recieved Vote of Confidence from all the candidates minus our Deputy Gubernatorial Candidate, Robert Ngwu who still does not see himself as a candidate and Dr Oby Aji whose name was not uploaded to INEC portal even though she won her primary election unopposed.
7. Yes, he established lots of support groups on paper.
8. Other Achievements includes:

A) Failure to properly ensure the submission of the name of Candidate for Igboeze North/Udenu Federal Consituency to INEC.

B) Failure to timely and properly submit the withdrawal documents of Robert Ngwu as a placeholder for Deputy Gubernatorial position. This failure led to APC sponsorship of Nkanu-Nkanu ticket contrary to already estsblsihed norm.

C) Failure to timely and properly submit withdrawal documents of 11 State House of Assembly placeholder and thereby exposing the placeholders to public ridicules. In many cases the placeholders are nonpartisan relatives and friends of members of Ugo Agballah’s New APC Executive.

D) Failure to attract any known politician to APC since his hostile takeover of the party.

For those celebrating my friend, Ugo Agballah, as a hero for his hostility towards the founding fathers and stakeholders of this party I urge you to ask yourself the following questions:

1) Where are the members of Ugo Agballah’s Oganiru Political Family that joined APC with him?

2) In Nkanu West, since Ugo Agballah created the New APC who are his replacement for the following Old APC members: Chief Barr. Onyemuche Nnamani (Former SSG Enugu State, and Commissioner Police Service Commission representing Southeast), Barr Ifeanyi Nwoga (Former Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General Enugu State), Ambassador (Gen) Sunday Ugwu (Rtd) Nigeria Ambassador to Poland), High Chief Madueke Ngene (A highly respected Elder statesman), Chief Sunday Eze (Pioneer Chairman APC Nkanu West), Barr Jerry Ene (Former Mayor Nkanu West) and Dr. Ben Nwoye (Immediate past Chairman APC Enugu and Commissioner FCCPC representing Southeast).

3) In Nkanu East who are Ugo Agballah’s replacement for the following members: Barr. Tony Nwafor (2019 House of Representatives Candidate Nkanu East/Nkanu West), Hon. Chidi Mbonu (Pioneer Chairman APC Nkanu East), Mrs. Ndidiamaka Onuma (Pioneer Deputy Woman Leader APC Enugu State), Hon. Chief Chuks Owo (A highly respected Staakeholder), Surveyor Raph Chukwu (A highly respected Stakeholder), Barr. Fidelix Onuma (Legal Adviser Buhari Support Organisation), Barr. Mrs. Uzoaro Ogazimora (A highly repected stakeholder) and Mrs. Rejoice (A Nationally recognized social media influencer).

4). In Isi-Uzo who are Ugo Agballah’s replacement for Chief Mrs. Joy Ebe (Pioneer Chairman APC Enugu), Hon. Ejike Eze (Commissioner National Population Commission), Chief Anthony Mbah (State Coordinator BAT Vanguard, a Retired Customs Comptroller) and Dr. Davison Nnamani (A former Presidential Adviser).

5) In Enugu East who are Ugochukwu Agballah’s replacement for Chief Anike Nwoga (State Coordinator BSO, former National Youth Leader ANPP, former State Chairman CPC, Former State Youth Leader NPP, and Pioneer Vice Chairman APC), Mrs. Kate Chukwu (Former Zonal Woman Leader Enugu East Senatorial District), Chief Simon Nome (Former Chairman APC Enugu East) and Professor Nnamchi (A highly respected stakeholder).

6. In Enugu North who is Ugo Agballah’s replacement for Barr. G.B. Onoh (former Enugu City Mayor), Dr. Barr. Mrs V. N. Chukwuani (Former BoT member representing Southeast Women), Hon. Ugochukwu Agballah’s New APC does not have any replacement for the aboved mentioned Leaders, their followers and supporters. So, it is foolhardy for anyone to think that APC Enugu State will do well without the contribution of the above mentioned men and women.

Since my friend Ugochukwu Agballah is too proud to say “I am sorry,” it is my candid opinion that candidates for the upcoming general elections should seek the support of all stakeholders in their immediate constituency.

Let’s be frank, Ugochukwu Agballah has destroyed the foundation of APC we spent almost 9 years to build. But it is our individual responsibility to take whatever steps legally permissible to keep the party alive.

Simply stated, Ugochukwu Agballah is the product of our individual mistakes and political selfishness. We shall all bear the pain until his tenure expires.
