Speaking to some Aninri APC think tank led by Hon. Ejike Okeke, his Excellence group captain Joseph Orji said that he holds Chief Ben Nwoye the immediate past Chairman of APC Enugu State in high Esteem and have so much respect and regards for him as a very good friend who honored him and the Aninri people in an extraordinary way.
He said that development in the party in the last few weeks didn’t affect his personal relationship with Nwoye and that he had reminded him of that. His decision to respect party leaders was to ensure that crises didn’t continue in the party and that no intention whatever to blackmail or neglect his best friend Dr. Nwoye. He believes that there will still be time in the future to reward Dr. Ben for his respect and honour to him and Aninri people. He noted that the few weeks with the minister should be a sacrifice for peace and not to witch hunt anybody. He believes that justice and equity still have it stand in APC as all leaders must understand that we can’t continue with crises when the simple thing to be done is possible with just a word.
He further noted that he was surprised and highly elated when he received a call from Dr. Ben Nwoye insisting that he should nominate somebody from Aninri for federal appointment. In his words, Ben Nwoye told him that the appointee must be from Aninri and that the person must be nominated by Him (Dr. Joe Orji), as a mark of respect and appreciation for his support for the party in Enugu State and for always being a good friend.
Subsequently, His Excellency Group Captain Orji presented Late Hon. Mrs. Maria Aniobi to Dr. Ben Nwoye and he accepted her nomination. This was what led to her appointment as a federal Commissioner Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission by president Buhari.
Recall that His Excellency Group Captain Orji graced the reception organized in honour of late Mrs. Aniobi after her inauguration by president Muhammadu Buhari where Hon. Ejike Okeke Moderated the event as the Master of Ceremony in Abuja.
This revelation by His Excellency is a proof that Dr. Ben Nwoye believes in Equity and Fairless.
