In a vibrant display of political enthusiasm and strategic planning, support groups from across Aninri Local Government Area gathered today at Tiger Bar in Enugu to meet the incoming Chairman, Hon. Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku. The meeting was a testament to the unyielding spirit of the community and their commitment to ushering in a new era of leadership.

The event began with meticulous attendance documentation, setting a tone of professionalism and organization. Hon. Israel Ani (Ngige Aninri) serving as the Chairman of the meeting, took the helm to guide the session. His initial task was to introduce the delegates, ensuring that each participant was properly identified. This step was crucial in laying a solid foundation for the meeting’s proceedings.

The organisers of the meeting in their circular specified that the attendants must be the Chairman and secretaries of all campaign group. Mr. Ndubisi Anthony Okechukwu (Budget) the Chairman of Akaekpuchionwa Movement for Ugochukwu Nwanjoku from Nenwe ward 1 and the secretary – Prince Nwobodo from Nenwe Ward 3 representated Akaekpuchionwa Movement for Ugochukwu Nwanjoku Chairmanship 2024 in company of Our Director Media and Publicity – Mr. Martins Egbo and our Coordinator Uhueze Nenwe – Ogbuefi Francis Onyeka Igbo

In his opening address, Hon. Ani delivered a compelling call to action. He urged the attendees to support the incoming Mayor, whom he hailed as the “Moses of our time.” The urgency of the campaign was emphasized, with Ani stressing the limited timeframe available and the need for all hands to be on deck. He highlighted that the five days preceding the Mayor’s official campaign launch were vital for all campaign groups to commence their activities. This pre-campaign phase is designed to prepare the groundwork before the Mayor’s campaign council inauguration, scheduled for the first week of September.

Hon. Ani also delineated the primary objective of the support groups: to engage in grassroots canvassing. He emphasized that the campaigns should be goal-oriented, disciplined, and well-coordinated. A key strategic move discussed was the merging of all support groups under a unified umbrella, aimed at streamlining efforts and enhancing overall impact. This consolidation is expected to foster a cohesive and effective campaign strategy.

The atmosphere of the meeting reached a crescendo when the incoming Mayor, Hon. Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku Udumeze Jr., made his grand entrance. His arrival was met with a standing ovation, reflecting the high regard and support he enjoys among the delegates. The Mayor’s presence marked a pivotal moment in the meeting, as he addressed the gathered support groups with remarkable intelligence and eloquence.

Hon. Nwanjoku’s address was both inspiring and pragmatic. He pledged to extend the exemplary governance of His Excellency Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah to the grassroots level, ensuring that the benefits of his leadership reach every corner of Aninri. The Mayor outlined his vision with clarity, emphasizing his commitment to transparency and development.

A significant request made by Hon. Nwanjoku was for each political ward in Aninri to submit detailed information about all feeder and access roads within their jurisdictions. This initiative reflects his dedication to addressing infrastructural needs and ensuring comprehensive development throughout the area.

Additionally, the Mayor encouraged each support group to carry on with their separate plans rather than unifying under one umbrella and promised full financial support to each of the support groups present. He urged the groups to submit their organizational structures and budgets to Hon. Barr. Israel Ani by Friday, August 30, 2024, in PDF format. This financial backing is intended to empower the groups and facilitate their campaign activities, ensuring that they have the resources needed to achieve their objectives.

As the meeting drew to a close, Hon. Prince Obinna Nwanjoku delivered a vote of thanks. His remarks were filled with optimism and assurance, expressing confidence in the smooth transition and success of Hon. Nwanjoku’s impending tenure as the Mayor of Aninri Local Government Area.

Today’s meeting at Tiger Bar was more than a routine political gathering; it was a powerful demonstration of community solidarity and strategic foresight. With a clear plan of action, robust financial support, and a unified front, the support groups are well-positioned to launch a successful campaign for Hon. Ugochukwu Nwanjoku. This gathering not only set the stage for a dynamic campaign but also marked the beginning of a promising new chapter for Aninri Local Government Area.
