An Amazing Representative – Engr. Okwu Chinedu Otaka my own brother and friend when judged in the absence of an enemy that is filled with envy and hatred, is the best representative Aninri have produced since the return of Democracy in 1999. His vibrancy and eloquence is second to non. His contributions at the State Assembly is Educating, unique and with focus towards definite direction aimed at providing good representation not just for Aninri but to the entire Enugu State and the South East. His position that cuts across Security and Youths etc placed him on a very sensitive part in the State.
Within two years and without prior Political foundation that fetched him huge resources, he was able to float a foundation and awarded scholarships/Bursary to Aninri Sons and Daughters plus other health support and Financial assistance to numerous Aninri People.
Coming into the State House of Assembly at a time the PDP in Aninri is grossly divided by an incompetent Governor who only seeks ways of manipulating people, he faced many political hold ups and yet was able to manage it all without betraying the man who brought him to political limelight. Amidst poor resources, he have never missed his usual Christmas gifts to Aninri Youths and Stakeholders.
He made sure he move motions, sponsor bills and raised matters of Urgent Public importance and was able to respond to security challenges at Aninri and at New Artisan Market in Enugu Metropolis promptly.
In his quest to have something to his name, he sponsored the construction of Bridge at Agbada Nenwe and attracted other dividends in the education sector and other areas to communities in Aninri.
There is no Burial, Marriage or other events that Otaka was invited in Aninri, that he didn’t made reasonable financial contributions and as well attended over 98% of such events.
Despite his numerous good sides that should earn him a second term, he was replaced due to the efforts to cut the wings of his master. Nevertheless he refused to dump the PDP. An action that made me embrace the party and channeled my support to the Party’s choice who is also a brother and an ally in order to encourage others to shun bitter politics and to understand that God makes one a king at the appointed time.
As Hon. Okwu Chinedu (Otaka) takes a bow from the Enugu State Assembly, I wish him a very bright future in his personal endeavors and in Politics.
