When you grab land, you then drag for bed

At this critical time in the history of the APC Enugu State, A stakeholder in APC from Aninri Local Government Area Hon. Ejike Okeke who was the party’s councilorship candidate in Nenwe Ward 1, Aninri Local Government Area of believes that for the APC to win Enugu State governorship Election in 2023, the party leaders should shun unnecessary pride and arrogance and embrace His Excellency Distinguished Sen. Prof. Ike Ekweremadu and as well give him 70% if not absolute opportunity to determine the APC candidates to contest elections in the state in 2023.
Although many may say this is bad because some members of the party have been working before the entrance of Sen. Ekweremadu into the Enugu State APC. He noted that such assumption should not cover the fact that those who have been working have never won their pooling units talk more of their wards. Saying that this is the time to shun sentiment, pride and desperate greed to grab election money from the National office of the APC and consider the genuine members who have suffered for the Enugu State APC over the years. He went further to say that, a man like Toby Okechukwu for instance, have strong followers in Awgu Local Government Area and controls large number of voters. If returned to the house will be an advantage to the APC Enugu State because, he must form part of the house leadership based on his years in the house of Representatives and his experiences.
He advised party members to seek 70% appointment from the incoming government of Sen. Ike Ekweremadu as compensation for giving him outright authority to chose candidates. He noted that it is through appointments that one is rewarded in a party that is struggling to win elections and never through election contest especially when those seeking to grab the party ticket have no structures, experience and resources to win election in a state controlled by opposition government.
Recall that Ugo agballah, the controversial APC Chairman in Enugu State who is facing court cases over his membership of the party and status as the party Chairman, failed to win his pooling unit in the last Local Government Election in Enugu State. He was also unable to produce candidates in all the 260 wards in Enugu State for that election. A situation many said was because he just took over from the former chairman and was yet to settle down. But similar issue occured again as he was unable to produce candidates in some state constituencies in Enugu State while using candidates who cannot win House of Assembly as senatorial candidates.
To Hon. Ejike Okeke, it is very disheartening to read from the media where Ugo Agballah was quoted to have said that Sen. Ekweremadu’s ambition is evil because of PDP zoning sentiment. One wonders on whose side Agballah stands. It may interest you to note that a party who have never won Elections have no business with zoning. Neither will a party who have interest in winning elections jettison a candidate with capacity on zoning sentiment. Agballah stands to many analysts suggest that he is playing script aimed at using the 2023 chances for his personal financial gains.
Hon. Okeke concluded by advising the National Working Committee of the APC, the presidency and all Stakeholders in Enugu State and from the South East to ignore the rants of the likes of Ugo Agballah and give Senator Ikeoha the right support to win Enugu State for the party with the help of his numerous supporters who have vowed to follow the outstanding senator wherever he goes.
