An unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), currently standing trial, runs contrary to the doctrine of separation of powers between the Executive and Judiciary, President Muhammadu Buhari has said.

Receiving a group under the aegis of Highly Respected Igbo Greats, led by First Republic parliamentarian and Minister of Aviation, Chief Mbazulike Amaechi, at State House, Abuja, the President told the 93-year-old statesman:

“You’ve made an extremely difficult demand on me as leader of this country. The implication of your request is very serious. In the last six years, since I became President, nobody would say I have confronted or interfered in the work of the Judiciary. God has spared you, and given you a clear head at this age, with very sharp memory. A lot of people half your age are confused already. But the demand you made is heavy. I will consider it.”

Stressing his policy of non-interference with the Judiciary, President Buhari said when Kanu jumped bail, got arrested and brought back to the country, “I said the best thing was to subject him to the system. Let him make his case in court, instead of giving very negative impressions of the country from outside. I feel it’s even a favour to give him that opportunity.”

The President condoled with Chief Amaechi, who recently buried his wife, praying that her soul would rest in peace.

The nonagenarian had described the situation in the Southeast as “painful and pathetic,” lamenting that businesses have collapsed, education is crumbling, and there is fear everywhere.

He pleaded for a political, rather than military solution, requesting that if Kanu was released to him as the only First Republic Minister still alive, “he would no longer say the things he had been saying,” stressing that he could control him, “not because I have anything to do with them (IPOB), but I am highly respected in Igbo land today.”

Chief Amaechi said twice he had interfaced with Nnamdi Kanu in the past, and the latter rescinded orders earlier given on civil disobedience.

He concluded: “I don’t want to leave this planet without peace returning to my country. I believe in one big, united Nigeria, a force in Africa. Mr President, I want you to be remembered as a person who saw Nigeria burning, and you quenched the fire.”

Other people in the visiting delegation were; His Excellency Chukwuemeka Ezeife, former Governor of Anambra State, Bishop Sunday Onuoha of the Methodist Church, Chief Barrister Goddy Uwazurike, former President of Igbo socio-cultural group, Aka Ikenga, and Mr Tagbo Mbazulike Amaechi.

Ex APC Enugu State Party Boss – Dr. Ben Nwoye

The immediate past Chairman of All progress Congress APC in Enugu state, Dr. Ben Nwoye, has declared that a former Commissioner for Works in the state, Barr. Ugochukwu Agballa who is parading himself as a factional state Chairman is not  a member of the party.

Agballa, who claimed to have defected to the APC from the people’s Democratic party PDP few months ago, “is not a  member of the party, because he did not register with us during the registration exercise Nwoye insisted.

He however, advised  him to stop parading himself as a factional state Chairman knowing fully well that his name is not in the party’s register.

Agballa, a former member of PDP, left the party for the defunct Accord party, and later joined All progressive Grand Alliance APGA, from where he went  back to PDP, and  few months ago, said he has  defected  to the APC, where he claimed to have emerged  as a factional Chairman during their  recent  state congress.

According to him, “if our brother Ugochukwu Agballa loves APC and wants to join us as a member in Enugu state, he should do the needful. There are laid down procedures for anyone to become member of our great party.

Speaking yesterday in Enugu during a send forth ceremony organized in his honour by his close associates, and championed by members of the party in the state, Nwoye, who is also the immediate past Secretary, APC Chairmen forum, wondered why the Ex- Commissioner  is so desperate  in becoming state Chairman, even when he is not a card carrying member of the party.

“So, we are still letting members of the public know that the only   authentic state Chairman of APC in Enugu state remains Comrade Adolphus Ude, any other person parading himself as Chairman is just an impostor” Nwoye maintained.



The Ex- Enugu APC boss, said the party in the state will continue to resist all the undemocratic acts by some enemies within who joined the party from the PDP with the sole aim of pulling the house down for their selfish interest.

Nwoye, who had earlier in the day gone for a Thanksgiving Service at the Enugu Catholic Diocese owned Godfrey Okoye university Champlaincy, express appreciation to God for a successful tenure in office, even as he thanked members for their unalloyed support giving to him throughout his tenure.

He charged the party faithfuls particularly at the grass root to always see themselves as the real owners of the party, and should not allow those he described as Abuja politicians and strangers who joined their fold from other political parties such as PDP to keep intimidating  them.

Also speaking at the event, a former member of House of Representatives from Benue state, Hon. Nelson Adapa, had described Nwoye, as a dogged fighter and true party man who has contributed immensely to the growth of the party  both in Enugu state and national level,  having served as Secretary, APC Chairmen forum and state Chairman respectively.

The former federal lawmaker, urged members of the party in Enugu state to remain steadfast and committed to APC, noting that although, the party’s reward system may not be too fantastic or encouraging at the moment, as there is always room for improvement, adding that every member  stands a chance  of benefiting  from it at any time.

The event which was Coordinated by a special committee led by the Enugu West Zonal vice Chairman of the party, Mr. Tony Ibekwe, alongside the incumbent State Secretary, Evaristus Asadu, Woman leader, Ambassador Mrs. Favour Asogwa and other Executive Committee members, was graced by Caretaker  Committee Chairman of APC in Delta state, Ode Eru, his former counterpart in Benue state, Comrade Abba, as well as Monarchs and  friends of Nwoye, from various segments of Nigeria,

The administration of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has restored Plot No. P/23CA Independence Layout, Enugu, which was purportedly revoked without the governor’s approval pursuant to the Land Use Act, to the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) “in line with Allocation Reference No. LEN 29329/4 of 21st January 2011”.

The restoration of the land to NULGE was contained in a letter to the union’s state president by the new Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development, Nnanyelugo Chidi Aroh, dated November 16, 2021.

Aroh disclosed that the action of the Ministry came after “we have carefully reviewed the protest from your organization (NULGE) and other affiliate bodies namely the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC)”.

The Commissioner maintained that the purported revocation of the said land was done without the approval of the governor pursuant to the Land Use Act.

Aroh therefore stated that the State Ministry of Lands and Urban Development with the approval of Gov. Ugwuanyi “pursuant to the Land Use Act and contained in a letter reference No.GHS/56/LXIX/246 dated 11th November 2021, do hereby cancel and nullify any previous revocation of Plot No P/23CA Independence Layout, Enugu, having been done without the approval of His Excellency, the Governor of Enugu State”.

The statement added that “the organization (NULGE) is therefore required to complete all processes of regularization and commence development immediately in line with extant laws and regulations”.

In a similar development, the Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development, Aroh, in a letter to HRH Igwe F.O Ugwu of Emene Nike Community, dated November 16, 2021, notified him of the state government’s cancellation and nullification of the Notice of Acquisition issued to Emene Community reference No. LEN 39902/2, covering 197.8 Hectares, shown in Survey Plan No. EN (E) 2802.

Aroh pointed out that the Ministry’s decision has the approval of the governor pursuant to the Land Use Act contained in letter reference No. GHS/56/LXIX/293 of 11th November 2021.

“Subsequently, all rights and interests in the above described land revert to the Emene Community as was existing before the purported acquisition, which was done without the approval of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi as required by the extant law”, the commissioner said.

Removed Emeka Ezeh hands over to Mr. Achikalu who didn’t participate in Aninri LGA congress, neither was his name in Aninri APC consensus List. Implications of imposition is manifesting very fast, anarchy and lawlessness now order of the day because men who don’t have conscience and who don’t want progress of the party have decided to held us down.

Recall that Dr. Ben Nwoye was removed by Chikwado Chukwunta led State Executive committee, because he inaugurated ward executives without APC Abuja instructions. Today in Aninri, a desperate Emeka Ezeh and his likes showed a video where he hands over to a man who was not with our faction (Onyeama, Ken, Sullivan, Enukwu, Ibekaku, Ilo,Chukwunta, GNG, Nwoga etc), during APC ward and Local Government Congresses in Enugu State and who never appeared in Aninri APC consensus lists. The Emeka Ezeh was also removed and replaced by Chief Achieba as acting Aninri APC Chairman. Chief Achieba was also one of the people that signed the Document that removed Dr. Ben Nwoye in his capacity as Aninri acting Chairman. How have Chikwado Chukwunta who is still the acting Chairman pending the inauguration of another Chairman at National convention protected what he did in the wards and Local Government Areas?.

Recall that Emeka Ezeh abandoned Nwoye a night to the state congress and switched to Ugo Agballah when it became obvious to him that various congress committees from Abuja had continued to recognize Chikwado Chukwunta as the Acting caretaker Chairman of Enugu State APC.

Ejike Okeke is laughing at people being deceived. This is the leadership Ugo Agballah and those who think they can impose anybody on their slaves is providing for APC in Enugu State. Tell me if these men are not intentionally destroying Enugu State APC.

If you are imposed, you also impose other people on others and the imposition continues.

Recall that the Enugu State APC Chairman was Zoned to Aninri, Awgu and Oji-River Federal Constituency before the committee announced another person from Udi which the zoning didn’t favour as chairman elect off heart.

I congratulate Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) — and a member of the Presidential Economic Advisory Committee (PEAC) — on his victory in the just concluded Anambra State gubernatorial election.

I commend the security agencies for their determination to ensure that the election went on as smoothly as possible, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the successful conclusion of the exercise, despite the initial challenges encountered.

I enjoin Prof Soludo to rally other stakeholders to tackle the enormous challenges confronting Anambra State and the Southeast in general.

I look forward to working with him for the peace, security and development of Anambra State and the entire country.

Although the man John Eleanya have no known history to his surname, it is believed that he lives in Mpu in Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State and some believes he come from Mpu. He have adopted the occupation of being used to bring down genuine people through cheap lies, propaganda and blackmail, just for peanuts to buy his Okirika wears and provide food to his insatiable stomach.

During the 2020 Enugu State Local Government Elections, he was accused of extortion by Hon. Mrs. Grace Ndumeze the Chairmanship candidate of the APC Aninri Local Government Area. We were not surprised then because he is known for desperation and can do anything to make money without thinking twice.

After the mysterious death of his brother who he extorted for so many years on the pretense of contesting for elections, I wage into a dispute over the man’s money which Ebubedike claims that he borrowed Emeka Ezeh to pay his house rent and to use part of the mobey to supply empty bags for food items, of which Emeka Ezeh claimed the cash was commission for his service charge, for teaching Ebubedike food item business for the Covid 19 palliative supply contract given to him by his late brother. It is unfortunate that the man died at the time Ebubedike was handling his contract for supply of food item for Covid 19 palliative. Ebubedike Mpu is yet to tell us how much of that man’s cash that is still in his possession after his death but rather choose to blackmail His. Excellency Group Captain Orji, a man who laboured for Nigeria through Air force and was the first Military Administrator of Gombe State. I hope the death of his brother is not connected with the contract. Immediately after the death of his brother, very poor Ebubedike, Spent millions consulting APC Stakeholders on his interest to become the next APC Enugu State Chairman. A move many believed the cash he was spending was suspicious or possibly acting as an agent to a more serious candidate or a master who would use him against Aninri People.

Haven known that his reputation have been rubbed in the mud in the entire Enugu State after he sold the entire leaders for a peanut and stepped down for an Udi candidate in a meeting convened by ordinary PA who is neither a member of State Executive Committee of the APC or ordinary Zonal Executive of APC or even a member of any APC National Leadership. To his shame, he believes his insatiable stomach is better than the future of Aninri People.

In a meeting with one Aninri Stakeholder whom he pleaded to persuade me to support his APC State Chairmanship Aspiration, I told him face to face that he is a blackmailer, a liar and will not tell me when he must have collected money to drop his deceptive ambition. Today that projection of mine is a reality. Instead of hiding his face in shame, he returned to talk trash about a billionaire, claiming he extorted hundred thousand Naira from him.

Recall that this same desperate Ebubedike who moves around day and Night looking for whom to lie to was the crises that ravaged Aninri APC between 2016 to 2020 when he was a factional APC Local Government Chairman extorting the Hon. Minister of Foreign affairs. When the ministers money is not coming as usual, he switched to Mrs. Ibekaku Nwagwu, knowing that Ibekaku is deep in knowledge of their evil tactics, he returned back through the back door to the minister during the APC congress and was ready to do anything just to get some cash. This was how he decided to sale Aninri slot of the chairmanship. Ebubedike didn’t even attend Enugu West meeting presided by His Excellency Sullivan Chime because his slave blood already told him that a PA is bigger than a former Governor and a member of APC Board of trustees. It is my prayer that the minister knows whom he is dealing with.

If Ebubedike can call all APC big men Criminals in Enugu West meeting and that their certificates was bought, what can he not do to get whatever he want.

Prof. Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State have been declared the winner of Anambra State Governorship Election of 6th November, 2021. This was after a fierce re run election at a hot zone (Ihiala) with over 140,000 Registered voters.

Recall that Ihiala have many billionaires and is assumed to be the 2nd Richest party of Anambra after Nnewi. This big men played major roles during the rerun.

Nevertheless, Tochi Ani haven worked closely with Governor Obiano believed that the capacity of the governor was the strength and magic behind Soludo’s Victory at the pools.

Responding to our questions on how she feels about the election in Ihiala in particular and Anambra State as a whole, while awaiting final results and announcement of Prof. Soludo as the winner of Anambra 2021 Governorship Election. She said that she can now eat and sleep with her two eyes open. An indication that she have had sleepless nights and empty stomach praying and making contacts and other efforts towards the Victory of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo. She said that the almighty God is the owner of her gratitude and thank all Anambra People who voted APGA.

As controversy continues to trail the outcome of the state congress of the Enugu State chapter of the All Progresives Congress (APC), held on October 16, 2021, the Enugu West Senatorial zone where the chairmanship position was zoned to has rejected the outcome of the congress.

Enugu West Senatorial zone consists of Aninri/Awgu/Oji- River Federal Constituency and Ezeagu/Udi Federal Constituency.

In a petition to the party’s Appeal Committee in Enugu state, the concesus Chairmanship candidate from Enugu West Senatorial zone, Group Captain Joseph Iloabanafor seeks from the Appeal Committee that the purported return of Ugochukwu Agballa as the chairman-elect of the APC in Enugu state be nullified.

That as the concesus candidate for the office of the chairman, he, Group Captain Joseph Iloabanafor should be declared as the new Chairman of the All Progresives Congress, APC in Enugu state.

Initially it was Dr Kingsman Obinna Chikelu and five others, who later step down for group capital Joseph Iloabanafor, to become the consensus chairman of APC Enugu state.

He also seek that all the concesus candidates as contained in Annex “C, D & E” in the petition to the Appeal Committee and as endorsed by the stakeholders and party members be declared as new executives in the state.

In the petition, Group Captain Joseph Iloabanafor had claimed that prior to the congress, the stakeholders and members of the APC in Enugu state pursuant to Article 20(I)(a) of APC Construction held series of meetings for the purposes of zoning and possibly agreeing on candidates for the election by concesus.

According to him, the first of such meetings called by the former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani who is a member of the National Caretaker Committee of party held on September 23, 2021 and that at the meeting, a nine-man Committee headed by Hon Emma Okenwa was appointed to review the issue of zoning the political offices and report back to the stakeholders.

Iloabanafor further stated that on October 10, 2021 at a re-convened meeting, the Okenwa led Committee submitted their report which zoned the political offices for the state congress to the three Senatorial Districts of Enugu state namely East, North and West.

He said the said report was unanimously adopted by the stakeholders who then urged the districts to go home and further micro-zone and possibly come up with concesus candidates for adoption by the stakeholders and party members.

Further more, he said that the office of the chairman among others was zoned to Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency where he belonged and that the stakeholders at the.meeting after considering and adopting the micro zoning of the offices adopted the candidates for the purposes of concesus.

“I was screened by the Committee that was sent by the National Caretaker Committee led by Dr. Ijoma Arodiogbu and that on the day of the congress, without publishing the list of delegates, and without accreditation, the Committee moved the Congress from its original venue.

“The new venue, they were denied access by suspected hired thugs at the entrance but members of the National Caretaker Committee were allowed access when they arrived explaining that within ten minutes of their arrival, they were whisked away consequent upon a fracas that ensued,” he said.

Group Captain Iloabanafor concluded by saying that there was no APC congress in Enugu regretting that he was later told that one Ugochukwu Agballa from Udi in Ezeagu Federal Constituency who as at second week of July, 2021 was a member of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, a rival party claimed to have been declared as the state Chairman by the said Committee.

Although no APC Member should be happy that the APC in Anambra not only failed but did not even made the second position or at least win some Local Government Areas. This is not just a loss, it is a total failure of people who think that party members are nothing.

Days to the election, a video praising Ugo Agballa as being the only way to achieving victory in Enugu State APC surfaced claiming that Ugo Agballa is in Anambra to help the APC win the election and after which they will apply such magic in Enugu State. The rest is history now as the party performed far below expectation. Recall that the Governorship candidate of the APC in Anambra state emerged APC candidate in a very controversial manner. Outside that, the man is viewed by many as someone who will sale Anambra if given the opportunity.

In Enugu State APC, after party men have worked round the clock to do revalidation and Registration of new member and leaders consulted widely on the need to use a matured and reserved gentleman as the APC chairman in Enugu State, the choice of His Excellency Group Captain Joseph Orji was considered most needed this critical time. The party didn’t need an actor who will showcase dancing steps and ability to display like film actors or footballers. The party needed a leader who will command respect and ensure discipline especially when cash is presented to him by the opposition.

Before the State congress, leaders called His Excellency Group Captain Joseph Orji and urged him to get prepared to take up the task of administering the party in Enugu State. The party in order to get things right went ahead to zone party positions. The positions was further micro zoned and all the zoning and Micro zoning was respected and followed in other zones except in Enugu west zone, where the Minister of Foreign affairs and Chief Ken Nnamani sees no reason to allow Greater Awgu who have presented a consensus candidate to the party have their Chairmanship slot that was zoned to them. This happened against all the warning by the former Governor of Enugu State His Excellency Sullivan I Chime who is also a member of APC Board of Trustees, that members should shun personal interest in order to ensure that the party is united and formidable. After the presentation of His Excellency Group Captain Orji to Enugu State APC, by the people of Enugu west led By Sullivan Chime and Chief Gbazueagu Nweke Gbazueagu, Ken Nnamani bluntly refused to Endorse Group Captain. He rather choose to play games by deceiving party members that ranting by the PA to the Honourable minister insinuating that they did their own meeting and zoned the Chairmanship to Udi and that Ebubedike Mpu Stepped down for Ugo Agballah is more acceptable to him than what respected leaders of Enugu west did. That singular act of Chief Ken Nnamani further showed his support for disunity in the party and his zeal to ensure that the party remained factionalized. As an elder, one expect him to to shun Flavour (The Minister’s PA) and move on with the adoption of the resolution of the First meeting of Enugu west Stakeholders, that zoned the State APC Chairman to Greater Awgu.

Today, these men who feels that impunity is the only way to sustain their greed, have being disgraced in Anambra. The National body of APC should have known by now that if the anomaly in Enugu is not corrected and the consensus candidate restored, winning Enugu State in 2023 will be daydreaming.

The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in the Anambra governorship election, Charles Soludo seems to be cruising to victory as he has floored his major challengers in their Aguata local government area.

Mr Soludo, Andy Uba of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are all from Aguata local government area.

Results from the council showed that the APGA candidate scored 9,136 votes while Mr Uba polled 4,773 votes with Mr Ozigbo coming third with 3,798 votes.

The results from over seven local governments showed that the former central bank governor, is leading in the results seen so far.

The electoral Act on the other hand stated that “In an election to the office of the President or Governor whether or not contested and in any contested election to any other elective office, the result shall be ascertained by counting the votes cast for each candidate and subject to the provisions of sections 133, 134 and 179 of the Constitution, the candidate that receives the highest number of votes shall be declared elected by the appropriate Returning Officer.

Meanwhile, voting was successful today in Anambra State and the commission have extended voting till tomorrow Sunday the 7th November, 2021.

At least, five persons have reportedly died from a late night fire outbreak that gutted a section of the popular Kubwa ultra modern market in Abuja.

Although, the identities of the deceased were not immediately ascertained as at the time of filing in this report, at least two others were said to have sustained serious injuries from the inferno.

While the actual cause of the fire which started a few minutes before 8pm could not be immediately ascertained, traders said it was as a result of an explosion from adulterated kerosene.

As of 8:45pm, fire fighters were still struggling to contain the inferno.

IPOB HAS ALREADY DONE DAMAGE TO THE FORTHCOMING ANAMBRA STATE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION COMING UP TOMORROW

Calling off the earlier proposed sit-at-home order and encouraging Ndi Anambra State to come out enmasse to vote in the tomorrow’s Anambra State Governorship election by IPOB is medicine after death. The destruction is already done.

First, they discouraged a lot of eligible voters from updating their records or doing a new registeration where necessary. Many people failed to collect their PVCs out of fear as a result of IPOB’s threats and intimidation.

Secondly, they succeeded in scaring a lot of people out of the state and discouraged those who earlier planned coming home to cast their vote.

Thirdly, they caused the state to be over militarized with security agencies which usually has not worked well for the conduct of any election in Nigeria.

Finally, the threat by IPOB, the subsequent sit-at-home orders before now and the high profile killings in the state have already instilled fears and discouraged many from participating in tomorrow’s election.

All these implies that either IPOB acts before they reason or deliberate in calling off their sit-at-home order at the 9th hour for strategic reasons, but certainly not in the interest of the election.

It baffles therefore me that those who champions and hopes to administer the so called state of Biafra when they achieve it lacks tactice and basic logical reasoning. Tomorrow, somebody who may not be a popular choice for the state may emerge because of the blunder these urchins who suddenly found themselves issuing orders in the South East.

Even with the call off of the sit-at-home order by the IPOB, the entire streets of the SE were completely disserted today, a day before the election.

Time shall tell.

Nigeria Police Force deploys 2 DIGs, 5 AIGs, 14 Commissioners of Police, 31 Deputy Commissioners of Police, 48 Assistant Commissioners of Police and 34,587 personnel made up of conventional police officers, Police Mobile Force (PMF), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Special Forces personnel. Days after soldiers withdrew from checkpoints and highways within Ondo State, men of the State’s Security Network Agency also known as Amotekun Corps have arrested suspected bandits allegedly planning to invade the state.

The suspected bandits, 18 in number were arrested in Ondo town, headquarters of Ondo West Local Government Area of the State.

They were said to have taken off from Kastina State before arriving the Ondo State.

According to the Commander of Amotekun in the State, Adetunji Adeleye, the bandits stormed the state in three 18-seater passenger buses.

He added that two of the buses escaped while his men were able to intercept one of the buses after escaping from different checkpoints before they were arrested in Ondo town.

Aroh recalled that the State Executive Council at its 9th Executive Council meeting held on Friday, July 17, 2020 approved the upgrading of the Survey Department to an Extra-Ministerial Department, stressing that Gov. Ugwuanyi “believes that Surveyor Didigwu, Bs.c, Ms.c, Ph.D, will bring his known professionalism to bear on his new assignment”.

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State also approved the appointment of Surveyor Dr. Augustine S. Didigwu as the Surveyor-General and Head of the state’s Survey Department.

The appointment was contained in a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Nnanyelugo Chidi Aroh.

Aroh disclosed that Surveyor Didigwu, until his new appointment, was the Head of Department of Surveying and Geoinformatics, Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), Agbani, since 2018.

The Information Commissioner added that the newly appointed Surveyor-General is also the Chairman of the Nigeria Institute of Surveyors, Enugu State branch, from 2017 till date.

They were apprehended after troops of a Joint Security Team raided IPOB/ESN hideouts in Mgbowo, Awgu Local Government Area, on the 1st of November 2021.

Spokesman for the 82 Division Nigerian Army, Major Abubakar Abdullahi, disclosed on Tuesday that the suspects are currently undergoing interrogation with a security agency.

Major Abdullahi noted that, contrary to IPOB/ESN propaganda video, there was no incident of indiscriminate firing or unprovoked burning of houses during the raid.

“The joint operation in Agwu was conducted in the night and there was no destruction of any private property involved.

“The trending videos in circulation claiming to represent the aftermath of the night operation is not portraying the Agwu operation. It is meant to whip up sentiment and incite the public against the Army.

“Meanwhile, investigation into the video is ongoing to ascertain when and where it was shot and those involved. Any personnel found culpable would be sanctioned accordingly. Updates will be communicated when investigation is completed,” Major Abdullahi assured the public.

He further advised members of the public to disregard “such propaganda materials intended to mislead” the populace, adding that the Army shall continue to support other security agencies in line with its constitutional mandate in a professional manner.

The officer further noted that any act of unprofessional conduct among troops of the Nigerian Army will not be tolerated.

Greater Awgu (Enugu West) Concerned Stakeholders petitioned APC Enugu State Congress appeal Committee.  September 28th, 2021. By Ejike Okeke  The People of Enugu West Senatorial District have protested against the fraudulent State Congress said to have taken place in Enugu. This was done during the APC Enugu State Congress Appeal Committee sitting. A petition from concerned Stakeholders from the zone was also presented to the committee. A Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned till January 20, 2022 hearing on the suit filed by the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) seeking a referendum to determine the fate of Biafra and other self-determination agitations.

It was noted that CNG had in June, sued the National Assembly, and the Attorney General, asking the court to compel the defendants to halt the ongoing constitutional review exercise and in its place, conduct a referendum to determine what determines Nigeria and who populates it.

The case was adjourned on Monday in Abuja after the court before Justice Inyang Ekpo could not sit the same due to official assignment.

Speaking to journalists on Monday after the adjournment, the spokesperson of the CNG, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, noted that the court could not sit and the suit was subsequently adjourned to 20th January, 2022.

The suit, filed by the plaintiffs and leaders of the group, Nastura Ashir Shariff, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, Balarabe Rufa’i and Aminu Adam, joined the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami; Senate President, Ahmad Lawan; Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila and the National Assembly as defendants.

CNG said instead of constitutional review, the defendants should immediately provide a framework for the actualization of agitators’ demand on self-determination.

He said, “What we are doing is to save the country, ourselves and the future of the country because these peoples are becoming violent already. And most of the people engaged in this activity are below 50. So if we allow our leaders of today to go and leave us with these people in this situation, there may be another bloodshed or civil war. That’s what we want to avoid, which is why we come to the court to interpret the situation.

One of the issues for determination in the substantive suit has to do with the legal obligation of the 2nd – 4th defendants/Respondents to provide a framework that will pave the way for the self-determination of the South-eastern states and any other enclave that wants to go so as to leave the geographical entity called Nigeria before any further step is taken to review the Constitution”.

APC Enugu State Congress: Greater Awgu Slot must me restored

History was made in Enugu State out of pride, political greed and 2023 desperate interests. The tendency to always hold down APC in Enugu State in order to continue making peanuts from the PDP was displayed at the highest level. While the show was on, some leaders who have contacts that could stop a daylight robbery watched in silence expecting the robbery to end as if everything was going on smoothly.

Before today’s congress, in his usual nature of fairness and Equity as was displayed during his time as Enugu State Governor where all wards were considered for appointments and all local Government got at least few roads, school projects and improved Security. His Excellency Sullivan Chime with the support of Her Excellency Juliet Ibekaku- Nwagwu and other leaders from Enugu West in compliance to the zoning arrangements already adopted by the Enugu State APC and documented by the Nine-men committee constituted to share the elective party positions to the three senatorial zones of the State micro-zoned the State Chairmanship Position to Greater Awgu Cultural Zone.

In Enugu North, the zoning was followed down to Local Government area and ward Level. No Local Government or Cultural Zone was tampered with and no one tampered with the position given to any other Local Government area.

This also happened in Enugu East Senatorial Zone. But in Enugu West, a camp who said they were working for the minister of Foreign affairs Geoffrey Onyeama held a factional meeting and decided to impose Udi Local Government people on Enugu State APC against the wills of genuine members of APC who shunned self interest in order to promote Peace, Equity and Unity towards forming a formidable force to wrestle power from the PDP in 2023.

While Candidates and delegates were yet to get to the venue, those who had planned to shortchange the Greater Awgu people whom the Enugu State APC Chairmanship was zoned to out of the consideration that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, SSA to Mr. President, DG Von and the immediate National Vice Chairman South East Zone of the APC are from Udi/Ezeagu, otherwise known as the Agbaja clan, with the support oh Senator Hope Uzodinma from south East who never asked questions on how things stands in Enugu State, shared tags to thugs who were never nominated as delegates by APC in any Local Government area in the state, with a fraudulent mandate to announce the name of an anointed candidate of the game masters so that it will appear election was actually conducted.
With the intervention of good party men who noticed what was going on, the real delegates rushed in and disrupted the fraudulent process. There was no congress in Enugu State today!!!

Agballah who was a loser in PDP, and who is not yet a fully registered member of APC and the Udi/Ezeagu clan man who masterminded this attrocity against Greater Awgu People, clearly indicated that he didn’t see anybody to respect in Greater Awgu even though the position was officially micro zoned to other candidates from Greater Awgu comprising of Aninri, Awgu, Oji-River Federal Constituency.
Following the zoning, Hon. Timothy Amah stepped down for Group Captain Orji to guarantee Equity in the spirit of consensus. Those who want the party divided could not stop this evil.
Another shocker was that His Excellency Rtd. Group Captain Joseph Orji, a candidate in the congress was not allowed to enter the venue of the congress.

The intervention of Chikwado Chukwunta, Sullivan Chime, Vinmatin Ilo, Ibekaku Nwagwu and lots of other leaders meant that the Congress Committee must come back to finish its work.

It is unfortunate that the presence of the south East Leader and Member of the APC National Caretaker His Excellency Ken Nnamani did not stop this show of intimidation and greed.
I urge the National caretaker to as a matter of fairness and Equity return the mandate given to his Excellency Group Captain Joseph Orji by Enugu West APC under Zoning Arrangements carried out by the Enugu State APC. The zoning arrangements cannot end when it gets to the turn of greater Awgu people. Whoever that thinks this must stand should know the implications of taking away what belongs to a child. For records, you may think this is politics, what happened if allowed to stand shall be a reference point to intimidation and daylight robbery in Enugu State even in 2023.

Recall that Hon. Ejike Okeke has never written anything to condemn any candidate for the APC Chairmanship but zoning made the other candidates to be out of the game and this was not targeted at anybody but just to make the party stronger in Enugu State through Equity and Fairness.
