Fantastic First Term as member Enugu State House of Assembly; Hon. and Mrs. Ejike and Egoyibo Okeke Paid for Expression of Interest Form for Hon. Okwu Chinedu (Otaka) to run for a 2nd Term.

Appealed to other interested Aspirants from Nenwe to support Otaka to complete his 2nd Term as a House of Assembly Member

20th March, 2022.

In the Spirit of brotherhood and unity of all parts of Nenwe, my family, through the President General of Agbada Nenwe Autonomous Community Chief Mbude Ifeanyi have made payment for the purchase of  Expression of interest form for Hon. Okwu Chinedu Otaka, for a second term in office as house of assembly Member Representing Aninri Constituency.

Recall that Otaka is from Nenwe ward 2, in Nenwe Town we have the culture of not dragging anything that comes to our Town. Since Otaka is now in the Assembly, I wish to encourage all Nenwe sons and daughters to support him to complete his 2nd term as a house of Assembly member. When next the Assembly seat comes to Nenwe we shall support another person from either Nenwe ward 1 or ward 3 based on the decision of party leaders, which have  always respected our sharing formula existing over the years in Nenwe Town. Recall that Nenwe also practiced zoning and micro zoning, this is why for instance, no Ndiugwu Amoji Person contested for councilorship in the last Local Government Elections as it was the turn of Ndiagbor Amoji Nenwe. At the LGA, there was no contest against Ndiabor and Nkpanku who had strong cases for the LG Chairman, immediately Okpanku man emerged, there was no contest in the PDP to challenge the candidate so chosen out of Equity and by extension zoning.

My support for Otaka was not just because of my desire to avoid unnecessary dragging of the seat but was due to his performance Viz;

1. Sponsored a bill for security trust fund.

2.Motion of urgent public importance for the demolition, evacuation and relocation of new Artisan Market, Enugu which has served as a security threat to the state.

3. A bill for the Amendment of Enugu State neigbhood watch law to avoid conflicting interest in the forest guard law.

4. Successful Conduct of public hearing on A bill to establish a law for forest guard. Recommendations and submissions were made from stakeholders in the security departments and the bill was passed into law before the GOVERNOR’S ascent.

5. Motion of urgent public importance on the invasion/encroachment/killing and destruction of crops and properties in Okpanku, mpu and Oduma by Gov. Dave Umahi of Ebonyi state and the people of Ohaozara in Ebonyi state.

6. Co-sponsored a motion of urgent public importance for the invasion of fulani herdsmen in the state where he called the then commissioner of police to order and recommended the immediate removal of the commissioner of during the high rate of kidnapping and killing. Notable amongst the Killings was the killing of Late Rev. Father Paul Ofu. His contribution was what lead to the replacement of the then commissioner of police. Recall that Hon. Okwu Chinedu (Otaka) is the Chairman house committee on youth, sports and security.

7. A bill/motion on urgent public importance for the rescue of internally displaced people as a result of flood which is a natural disaster at Okpanku. The overflow of ivo dam during the rainy season last year rendered a lot of people homeless. Which he raised a call in the house for a rescue by federal and state government through SEMA for their immediate intervention later, SEMA Responded through the federal government by providing relief materials including agricultural produce and funds, for relief of damaged crops due to the heavy flood.

You are aware that Hon. Okwu Chinedu Otaka even though he is from Nenwe dragged a senior Air force Man from Nenwe to NAPTIP for an asult and attempted murder of a 7years old boy. This is to tell you his kind of person and the value he placed on human life. He have many other meaningful contributions in the house while many first timers are yet to stand up and Express themselves.

Presently Hon. Okwu Chinedu (Otaka) is working on A BILL FOR YOUTH EMPOWERMENT COMMISSION IN ENUGU STATE

It may also interest you to know about some landmark infrastructural projects attracted by this gentleman Viz;

1. Completed Okpa Bridge Amagu Agbada Nenwe with his personal resources.

2. Attracted 5 claas room block at central school Mpu -completed.

3. Blocks of Classrooms at Okpanku (all project through ESUBEB and PPSMB)

4. Type 3primary care hospitals to be sited in Oduma.

5. Amagu Agbada bridge in the budget to commence soon according to the Governor.

6. Completed exam hall at Community secondary school Agbada Nenwe.

7. The floating of Otaka foundation for Education and Empowerment is a landmark and Laudable achievement that is very scarce amongst first timers in the State Assembly across Nigeria. Through the foundation, he have given bursary and other educational support to Students at all levels and have also empowered some women and youths.

Hon. Okwu Chinedu have also ensured that all Aninri Students seeking admission into tertiary institution are given admission especially in higher institutions in Enugu State.

Is there any reason he should not go for his 2nd term?

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT WE AS STAKEHOLDERS AND CONCERNED PEOPLE OF ANINRI SHUN PERSONAL INTEREST ESPECIALLY DURING ELECTIONS IF WE MUST DEVELOP ANINRI AND ENUGU STATE IN GENERAL.

You are to base your judgement on proper investigation of all this projects, Motions, Bills and interventions without  communal consideration, party factional mindset, personal hatred and desperation for power.

Congratulations to him as I am confident that other Nenwe sons and daughters who may have indicated interest to run will support him to emerge unopposed.
